Volunteering at Siloam Mission

by STNT
On Saturday, February 23rd 2019 the confirmation candidates, along with their sponsors/parents and catechism teacher, volunteered at Siloam Mission for the morning.
The day highlighted the Corporal Works of Mercy – feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, shelter the homeless, visit the sick and imprisoned, bury the dead – which the candidates are currently learning about. It also provided them an example of how they can serve the less fortunate, play an important role in their community, and how they as Catholic youth can make a difference.
The group was given a tour of the facility with opportunities to ask questions. Following this orientation they volunteered by sorting clothing.
We pray that this experience will further inspire our youth to devote some of their time in the future to the less fortunate and that these acts of mercy strengthen the development of character in our Catholic youth.
