Thanksgiving Mass for the end of the Catechism year

Thanksgiving Mass for the end of the Catechism year

…If we love the heart of Jesus, if we follow Him, if we trust in Him, He will keep us alive in our faith and He will give us a strong beat in our lives so that we will not need a pacemaker.

On the Solemnity of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday June 23rd in the evening, at St. Nicholas Tavelich church a thanksgiving Mass was held for the end of the Catechism year. The Eucharistic celebration was attended by the Catechism students together with their parents, their Catechism coordinator Marica Rampone and her assistant Ivana Zorica.

At the start of the Mass Father Marko noted: What a nice opportunity to have a thanksgiving Mass on The Solemnity of The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. What a nice occasion to say Thank You to our Lord for all His good deeds and for everything we have learned during this past Catechism year. As with other schooling, our small catechism school, where we learn about Jesus and His life, how to sing and how to pray, forms and builds us. The time that we have invested here has broadened our knowledge, therefore with this Mass we wish to thank God for all His gifts, all our classes, our teachers, our new friendships and the support of our parents.

At the beginning of his homily Father Marko lowered himself to the young ones where he asked them what they remember and what they learned this past Catechism year. As well, when asked what they know about the heart their responses were: it keeps us alive, it gives us strong blood, if the heart is beating it means we are alive, when it stops we are dead. Father Marko concluded his homily by associating the children’s words, that if we love the heart of Jesus, if we follow Him, if we trust in Him, He will keep us alive in our faith and He will give us a strong beat in our lives so that we will not need a pacemaker.

As with other schooling, our small catechism school, where we learn about Jesus and His life, how to sing and how to pray, forms and builds us.

With this Mass the Catechism students thanked God for all the good that they received this past Catechism year. Following the Mass, the celebration continued in our parish hall with barbeque, games and fun for our little ones.
