Resuming Public Masses at St. Nicholas Tavelich Parish
Dear friends and parishioners of St. Nicholas Tavelich parish,
Below you will find two documents – one from Fr. Peter and from the Archbishop. The first document dated June 6, 2020 outlines the current protocols observed at St. Nicholas Tavelich Parish in Winnipeg. The second document dated May 21, 2020 outline the Archdiocesan protocols that are also valid for our parish of St. Nicholas Tavelich. Please familiarize yourself with them and if you have any questions contact the parish office either by phone or email.
I have also attached an instructional video how these protocols look in practice. I would like to remind you that the parish bulleting is also available to be picked up during weekday masses or on our church website.
I found the following quote from Adel Bestvaros, preacher and scholar of the Christian Coptic Orthodox Church, consoling and inspiring at this time and would like to share it with you. If any virtue was tested the most during these times it would be most definitely patience.
“Patience with Others is LOVE, patience with Self is HOPE, patience with God is FAITH.”
Lastly a Prayer for Patience in Accepting God’s Will:
Lord, teach me to be patient- with life, with people, with myself.
I sometimes try to hurry things along too much,
and I push for answers before the time is right.
Teach me to trust Your sense of timing rather than my own
and to surrender my will to Your greater and wiser plan.
Help me let life unfold slowly,
like the small rosebud whose petals unravel bit by bit,
and remind me that in hurrying the bloom along,
I destroy the bud and much of the beauty therein.
Instead, let me wait for all to unfold in its own time.
Each moment and state of growth contains a loveliness.
Teach me to slow down enough to appreciate life and all it holds. Amen.
Thank you for your patience.
Let us keep one another in prayer,
